Margarita Marochkina
A lifelong dreamer and admirer of nature, Margarita has always been inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Although she initially pursued a career in science, earning a PhD in biology and pharmacology, her dream of becoming an artist never faded. After immigrating to the United States as a religious refugee from the former Soviet Union, she found inspiration and peace in the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Encouraged by a wonderful teacher, she finally embraced her artistic calling, studying at Clark College, where she received an art scholarship, and exploring the traditions of Byzantine-Russian iconography.
Her scientific background, curiosity about art history, and deep connection with nature have shaped her distinctive artistic vision. Guided by her heart rather than any particular artistic school or tradition, she strives to capture the beauty and wonder of Creation. Through her paintings, she hopes to share her love of the natural world and inspire others to pause, appreciate its beauty, and discover greater peace, compassion, and kindness.
